Short London Breaks – Excellent Budget Days Out For the Family

Short London Breaks ever welcomes the opportunity to elevate the wholesome outdoors spirit – and

possibly a city  in the capital doesnt immediately lend itself to persuasions of striding out

and taking in some sweet air, but with the development and investiture that has taken place over the past few years into the Thames

walk way, thats just what you can do on a rosy exhilarating day like today.

If you’re barely in the metropolis for the weekend then the ensuing walk ticks lots of diverse boxes – sight-seeing chances,

culinary delicacies, culture, and best of all, good on the budget!

If youre approaching the walk by tube then Id consider starting at either London Bridge or Borough stations.

Coming Up down of either of those steer North tll you arrive at the the River Thames.

Why not set about your tour by embarking out onto London Bridge itself? Although it doesnt have the  of many of the alternative bridges

it does afford a special place to take scenes of Tower Bridge as well as The Tower of London on the North Bank of the Thames.

Then bearing west along the river once more you shouldnt miss a wander around Borough Market – a tangible

treat for all the gourmets out there who require divine guidance or just something fantastic to snack on.

The food market specialises in produce from modest societies and producers from round the UK – but it also is

a marvelous place to find out olives from Greeece, cheese from France, Ostrich from South Africa, chillies from Brazil – the listing is continuous.

Its a extraordinary place to pick up a sandwich for later on in your walking also.

Extending along back to the river you’ll view some of the greatest panoramas of the river from here – with the City of London

offering its strongest attractive face, including the Lloyds Building, the Gherkin,St Pauls, the Barbican etc etc.

There are a  of inexpensive eateries along the river walk at this phase – pizza, Greek, up market burger shops too – so

if youre in the market for a mid-price  as a break this is a great point to choose, and you can savor the river views at the same time.

Umpteen of the restaurant along here are members of the larger groups and so its worth assessing out their sites

for price reduction vouchers and special offers – try Pizza Express, The Real Greek, the Gourmet Burger Kitchen for instance.

Keeping along the Thames Path then you’ll shortly arrive at the rebuilt Globe Theatre on your left and its worth visiting and checking out

the special deals. They do fantastic standing tickets for the evening performances and given the architecture and

aura of the theatre at around £5 it makes for a wonderful night’s entertainment even if plays arent your wonted thing.

Continuiung our amble along the SOuth Bank, coming to the Millenium Bridge you’re presented with a pair of choices.

Simply walking out onto the bridge, again, gives some good pic chances, but it also allows you to hive off up to St Pauls Cathedral and come across

Christopher Wren’s creation.

Back on the Southside there’s more free culture available in the form of the Tate Modern – which always has

a central exhibit in the main hall which generally delights even the most disinterested art viewer.

Just the outline should fill at least three hours of your morning, but if youre still keen to hit the pavement further then continue along the river to the South Bank

complex – go into the Royal Festival Hall, up to the 6th floor balcony and delight in some of the best views of London. Dont forget to take your camera with you

and this is an afternoon when the budget wont be hit gravely at all!.
